Meet the
Minuteman Series
The Minuteman is one of the most functional trucks for a fire department. It is designed to meet the inital response needs for rescue and extrication, medical emergencies, wildland and structural fire attack. It is versatile with its ability to change functions at a moment's notice.

This series of rescue wildland trucks consists of three models.
  • The B-24 is built on a chassis with a 60-64 inch cab to axle measurement, dual rear wheels and 17,500 lb GVW rating with a 400 gallon tank. The B-24 is typically built on a Ford F-450 or F-550 chassis.
  • The B-25 is built on a chassis with a 60-64 inch cab to axle measurement, dual rear wheels and 14,500 GVW or higher. The B-25 is a dry box rescue body and is usually built on a Ford chassis.
  • The B-27 Minuteman is built on a chassis with a 84 inch cab to axle measurement, dual rear wheels and a 19,000 GVW rating, typically a Ford F-550 chassis.

Standard B-24 and B-27 Minuteman include a recessed 400 gallon polypropylene tank and a rear-mounted 23 horsepower pump. Both the Chaparral Series and the Minuteman feature the same BATROPS-style transverse walkway with pump panel.

Tilt Test
The Minuteman was tested at the US Forest Service Technology & Development Center in San Dimas, CA. The truck was fully loaded with tools and 400 gallons of water. The GVW of the truck was then maxed out using sandbags. See pictures below.

The truck accomplished 37.1 degrees on both sides.

95% Solution
According to the late Larry Davis of FireRescue magazine, the B-27 Minuteman "proves good things come in small packages".
